Hong Kong Taxi
  • Mass Transit Railway (MTR) – This efficient and affordable rail system is one of the most popular modes of travelling around Hong Kong, with 84 stations scattered all over Hong Kong, Kowloon and more areas including the airport, there is no easier way to explore Hong Kong. Tourists can purchase a day pass, giving unlimited travel on the MTR for a day for just 55HKD, with this just costing 25HKD for children between ages 3 and 11. These can be purchased online on the MTR website, along with an Octopus Card which can be used to pay for both trains and buses.
  • Taxi – Throughout Hong Kong, there is no shortage of Taxis to give you a hassle free trip from A to B. With many easily identifiable taxi queues around, and the ability to hail any passing taxi, it is never a difficult task travelling around Hong Kong, with all taxis able to take their passengers to destinations such as the airport and Disneyland. There are many different colours of taxis that cover various geographical areas. The prices of these taxis vary, however they all remain very affordable. With the most expensive taxi (red taxis) costing 22 HKD for the first 2 Kilometres and 1.60 HKD for every 200 metres thereafter.
  • Buses – This reliable mode of transport covers virtually all of Hong Kong, with a plethora of buses to take you where you need to go. These buses are usually air-conditioned, so act as an effective means of escaping the heat, and there are a number of double decker buses, giving wonderful views on certain routes. As with most buses, the price depends on the distance travelled, and it is necessary to pay in change, unless you have an Octopus Card.
